All three Deuter models are suitable for children who can already sit up securely on their own and up to a body weight of 18 kg.
The carrying system fits a back length of 40 - 52 cm, which corresponds to a height of approx. 1.65 - 1.90 m. However, back length is the decisive factor.
Deuter's child carriers are all built to a high standard and very comfortable for both child and carrier. The three models differ in purchase price, but a higher price doesn't mean a carrier is "better" than another. Each model has its own strengths that make it especially suited to different needs.
The airy Kid Comfort Air is particularly well suited to warm summer temperatures. The Kid Comfort III needs a bit more space in your luggage, but very young children are optimally protected in this model. In between sits the Kid Comfort II as the tried-and-true classic among child carriers.

Determining your back length
Height and back length don't necessarily have much to do with each other: There are tall people with a relatively short back, and conversely, short people can have a relatively long back. The height guidelines given for each backpack are therefore only a rough reference. The decisive criterion when choosing a backpack size is back length.
To measure your back length, first feel for your iliac crest, i.e. the top edge of your hip bone. Then measure your spine from the height of the iliac crest up to the C7 vertebra – the neck vertebra that protrudes slightly when you bend your head forward.
