<h3>Kai Meier - Co-Founder / CEO</h3>
<p>My passion for adventure began in my childhood. Whether it was traveling along the coasts of Europe in a camper van during summer holidays or cycling along the Weser River at the age of 12, I always felt most at home outdoors in nature. After finishing school, I traveled for a year, explored the world, and learned to surf and dive. However, I often lacked the resources to try new things.</p>
<p>After graduating, I worked for a cargo bike rental company in Berlin. This experience inspired me to develop a similar concept for outdoor equipment. Together with Eloy, who shared a similar vision, we founded Outzip.</p>

<p>My focus is on outdoor sports such as surfing, snowboarding, climbing, and hiking. With experience in IT and audiovisual projects, I have managed corporate events worldwide. My passion for sustainability is evident in projects such as setting up a sustainable concept shop and supporting circular initiatives.</p>
<p>Founding my first company, a D2C marketplace for sustainable outdoor brands, marked the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. At Outzip, I combine my adventurous spirit, IT expertise, and building skills to lead the outdoor industry in circular retail.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">This photo shows my grandfather (Eloy) in 1950, when he expanded his small bicycle rental shop. Renting is not a new concept. In fact, simple and logical practices like renting bicycles, equipment, or tools &ndash; as well as circular approaches such as reusable milk bottles &ndash; have largely been forgotten or fallen into disuse. This shift is the result of a capitalist, linear, and profit-driven mindset that has shaped recent generations, making them among the most polluting and disconnected from nature.</p>

To register an order, information about the rental period and the type of reserved/ordered equipment must also be stored. There is an age limit of 18 years for using the service, so you must also provide your year of birth. Your order history will be stored when using the service. This personal data is used to provide the service to you. This personal data is stored as long as you are registered with us as a user. The personal data we have registered is accessible in your profile and can be modified. You may also contact us to request the deletion of your personal data or to deregister from our systems. In this case, you will no longer be able to use the service unless you register again.</p>

<p>Outzip will not sell, trade, or share your personal data. Online bookings are processed through a system provided by Outzip UG. We use the following third-party services to process your data:</p>

<li>Stripe for payment processing: Your payment information (e.g., credit card details) is securely processed by Stripe. We do not store full card data.</li>
<li>Google Tag Manager for managing website tags and tracking technologies.</li>
<li>Google Analytics for analyzing website visits and user behavior.</li>

<h2>3. Payment Information</h2>
<p>When you place an order, your card information is stored by the payment provider XYZ to process your order. XYZ stores the information securely and responsibly. This allows us to process order changes, release holds such as deposits, refunds, additional charges incurred by the user (for late returns, damages, or similar), and reduce misuse and loss. The transaction data related to your order is stored, but not the card data. The transaction data is stored as long as you are registered as a user of the service, see the section on personal data.</p>

<p>The personal data collected for these purposes includes both information you provide yourself (name, email address, etc.) and information collected through your use of the service, such as the equipment you rented, information about your location, and technical information about your device and internet connection. <p>These terms govern the use of the Outzip.de platform (hereinafter referred to as "the Platform"), operated by Outzip UG, Rollbergstra&szlig;e 28A, Berlin, registered under HRB 264494 B.</p>
<p>By accessing and using this platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.</p>
<h2>2. Definition of Parties</h2>
<p><strong>2.1.</strong> The lessor or seller is Outzip UG (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "Outzip UG").</p>
<p><strong>2.2.</strong> The renter or buyer is the person placing the order (hereinafter referred to as "you", "your", or "the renter").</p>
<h2>3. Payment, Deposit, and Pricing</h2>
<p><strong>3.1.</strong> Payments are made online at the time of booking. A deposit may be required depending on the rented item and will be used to cover damages or late returns.</p>
<p><strong>3.2.</strong> All prices include VAT. In case of pricing errors, Outzip UG reserves the right to adjust or cancel orders.</p>
<p><strong>3.3.</strong> Deposits will be refunded or released within 14 days after return, following an inspection of the rented items for damages or losses.</p>
<h2>4. Condition of Rental Items</h2>
<p>We guarantee that all rental equipment is high quality and fully operational. Each item is checked before rental.</p>
<h2>5. Damage, Misuse, and Fees</h2>
<p><strong>5.1.</strong> Any damage, technical defect, or accident during the rental period must be reported immediately to our team at <a href="mailto:orders@outzip.de">orders@outzip.de</a>.</p>
<p><strong>5.2.</strong> Normal wear and tear include minor scratches. Significant damage, excessive dirt, or improper use will be charged at 50% of the product&rsquo;s current market value.</p>
<h2>6. Cleaning Policy</h2>
<p>Regular cleaning is included in the rental fee. However, excessive dirt or untidy returns will result in an additional &euro;10 cleaning fee.</p>
<h2>7. Liability Disclaimer</h2>
<p>Outzip UG is not liable for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of rental equipment unless caused by gross negligence or intent.</p>
<h2>8. Data Protection</h2>
<p>We process your personal data in accordance with our <a href="https://www.outzip.de/privacy">Privacy Policy</a>.</p>
<h2>9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction</h2>
<p>German law applies, and the place of jurisdiction for disputes is Berlin.</p>
<h2>10. Changes to the Terms</h2>
<p>Outzip UG reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updates will be published on the platform and take effect upon publication.</p>
<h2>11. Cancellation and Modification Policy</h2>
<ul>
<li>Cancellations more than 7 days before the rental start date: Free.</li>
<li>Cancellations 7 to 2 days before rental: 20% fee.</li>
<li>Cancellations within 48 hours: 80% fee.</li>
</ul>
<p>Modifications to bookings can be made anytime. Adding items is always possible. Removing items within 7 days of the rental date incurs a 20% charge, and within 48 hours, an 80% charge.</p>

The deposit works just like when you use a hotel or rental car. When ordering, an extra amount is reserved on your card for a small security against damage or late return. Once you have returned, we will check the equipment and release the amount on your card. Everything happens automatically and you do not have to do anything.
